The Montgomery Canal connects to the main canal network at Frankton Junction, running 57km (35 miles) between Newtown in Powys and Oswestry and Ellesmere in Shropshire, providing a nice, easy flat off-rod cycle route.
It's one of the most important canals in the country for nature, much of it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and wildlife thrives along it.
