The venue of the Strathpuffer 24hr race (in January), northwest of Inverness, has some great riding which can also be enjoyed, and not endured, at warmer, hopefully drier times of the year.
The Strathpeffer trail for the Strathpuffer is a 12.5 km trail with roots, rocks, singletrack and steep climbs and descents. Race Route. Although waymarked it is recommended to use a trail map especially to help you find the start of the trail. You can get this from the nearest bike shop called Square Wheels.
