Red Squirrel Trail, Isle of Wight

The Red Squirrel Trail (named after the iconic species which still survives here on the island) offers a total over 50km's (30+ miles) of mostly traffic-free cycling through the heart of the Isle of Wight’s beautiful countryside.

The various trails link numerous towns and villages up all around the island, such as Cowes, Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Wroxhall and Merstone to offer a variety of distances of family friendly cycle rides to choose from.

The trail takes in estuaries, woodland, farmland, download, and a stretch of the Island’s fantastic coastline. The trail makes an ideal two or three day cycling tour taking time to take in the wildlife along the way and visit some of the many attractions, cafes and restaurants along and nearby the trail.
