Castle Ward


Castle Ward mountain bike trail centre is the latest Northern Ireland MTB facility and is located in Castle Ward, Strangford Lough. It is perfect for families and has 3 green trails and a blue MTB trail. Castle Ward also has a café, car park, bike hire, bike wash, changing area and toilets.

2km Green Shore Trail: A linear trail offering incredible coastal views and is wide and flat making it perfect for even the very youngest of riders.

3km Green Castle Trail: A circular green trail follows the route of the Shore Trail past the Boat House to Audley's Quay before continuing past Audley's Castle and climbing up through some mature deciduous woodlands where it meets the Audleystown Road. The trail then follows this quiet rural road back to the Farm Yard. 

4km Green Farm Trail: Starting from the Shore Car Park, the Farm Trail follows the Shorev Trail along the Strangford Lough coastline with stunning views across the bay to Portaferry. The trail then follows the Castle Trail and circles Audley's Castle before crossing the Audleystown Road to enter the walled estate.

13km Blue Boundary Trail: With long, steady climbs leading to fast, flowing singletrack and stunning panoramic views of countryside and coast, this 13km blue trail revels in all that Castle Ward has to offer! Perfect for those with a little bit more experience, this trail allows you to really develop your bike handling skills and experience the thrill of mountain biking whilst still in a safe environment.
