Thames Valley - London to Oxford

Escape London by bike, using this route, over 160km (99 miles). It is a mix of road and off-road, with around 64km (40miles) traffic free, so ideal for a gravel bike, over 2-3 days. The route meanders on riverside paths, country lanes, off-road trails and quiet residential streets, and is well signposted using the National Cycle Network route 4 from London to Reading, and route 5 from Reading to Oxford. The official starting point is Greenwich Foot Tunnel, but Putney makes a popular start with many as it is greener and quieter from here.
