Wharncliffe and Grenoside Woods are home to a network of unsanctioned but well-established trails with a firm downhill bias. Grenoside has a number of well-built tracks including the run used for Peaty’s Steel City downhill race, while Wharncliffe is steeper and rockier. All the trails are particularly challenging in the wet. Trails and jumps tend to get sporadically demolished by the land managers.
