Go East Lothian Trail

Only a short distance from Edinburgh, and at 63km (39 miles) this gravel friendly route provides an ideal micro adventure for newer riders, or a good days ride for the more experienced rider.
There are plenty of places to stop and visit along the way, such as various stunning beaches, John Muir’s birthplace, Archerfield Walled Garden, Scottish Seabird Centre and Preston Mill, as well as many others, and cages, etc too.

Starting at the scenic and vibrant harbour town of North Berwick, which is well-served by public transport. Scotrail operates frequent train services between Edinburgh and North Berwick, and trains also regularly stop in Dunbar on the East Coast Line between Edinburgh and London. There are bike shops in North Berwick and Dunbar, and bikes can be hired from Belhaven Bikes in Dunbar and The Bike Hub at Archerfield. Car parking is available in North Berwick and villages and towns along the route. Gilsland Park makes a great overnight stop, with family studios and more basic glamping pods to hire.
