The Coast and Castles Cycle Route is a 199-mile (321 km) long cycle route that runs from Newcastle to Edinburgh via Berwick Upon Tweed.
Not a rugged off-road route but you’ll want a hybrid or gravel bike, or even a mountain bike for the grassy tracks along the way. Suitable for new riders who could complete (Newcastle to Berwick) in three days with 53km/33 miles a day while more experienced riders will do it in two, or even one! You could certainly spend a week doing it though, visiting and extending it to see the views beside the way too.
The full route runs to Edinburgh and Aberdeen, but the section from Newcastle to Berwick-on-Tweed, is the most popular. Coast & Castles
