Moab, Utah

Arguably the No.1 MTB destination in the USA, consistently at the top of most riders' list, routes include the famous Slickrock Trail and The Whole Enchilada, as well as many, many more, suitable for a whole range of rider abilities.

The Whole Enchilada route is around 42km and incorporates parts of many iconic trails like Porcupine Rim, LPS and UPS, and Kokopelli’s Trail - making it a must-do route when visiting.

Moab has around just 5,000 full-time inhabitants, but up to around 40,000 visitors at one time and 5 million over theyear! The economy therefore somewhat revolves around outdoor recreation, and new trail developments and improvements are ongoing, which keeps Moab as a destination that’s worth visiting over and over again. High season is March-May and Sep-Oct.

The rock, which seems to bubble up from the ground, used to be smooth and slippery for early settlers on metal-shoed horses, but actually provides amazing grip for bike tyres. Try out the 8km Practive loop first before teh full blwon 19km SLickrock trail, which will take around 4hrs to complete. A small fee is charged to ride (or drive) here.
