Grand Valley, Colorado, shares the same geo- and topographic similarities with its neighbour Moab, thus providing more great riding and putting itself on the map as a superb destination for MTB'g.
With a range of superb desert riding and ongoing trail development providing new trails etc, such as the Palisade Plunge, it draws people back again and again. A popular early-season and fall (autumn) destination (like Moab).
Note: Grand Junction is a good-sized city with plenty of amenities, although bikers tend to congregate in the smaller towns like Fruita and Palisade.
