Crested Butte offers a superb summer alpine scenery (but not really a winter riding destination), with a cool remote mountain town vibe with superb natural singletrack from town itself, as well as an up-lift service at Evolution Bike Park, which boasts plenty of steep trails and challenging features.
There is also the Sawatch Range to the east which separates Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley from Salida, another mountain bike destination that’s worthy of a visit too.
