Forest of Dean trails to receive resurfacing

Posted on March 4 in Routes

Forestry England are investing £43,000 to completely resurface both trails, as part of the dedication to supporting the MTB industry in the Forest of Dean and Dean Trail Volunteers hosted an online fundraiser which raised over £8,000 to add to the pot.

Opened in 2014, Launchpad is the only trail of its kind in the UK specifically designed for four-wheeled gravity bikes. Countdown was later added as a top section to Launchpad. These trails are hugely popular with over 60,000 people riding them every year.

As well as resurfacing the trails, sections will be reshaped to better support two-wheeled riders who make up the majority of current users – although the designs will ensure those riding on four-wheels are still catered for.

Work will start later this month and both trails will be closed for approx. two months. Please note: this is subject to change and is largely weather dependent. We will keep you updated with all the latest updates.
