This inspiring weekend away offers a 2-day adventure, taking you from Dieppe to the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, along beautiful off-road trails.

Type of riding: Gravel / XC MTB 

Distance: Day 1: 135km / 84 miles with 1,500 metres of climbing / Day 2: 110km / 68 miles with 1,500 metres of climbing

Route information: The riding is mostly non-technical off-road trails, ideal for a gravel and (hardtail or short travel full-suspension) MTB. The route will not be waymarked, but we will provide GPX files, route maps and have support staff riders.

ITINERARY

Saturday: A 6am start from Dieppe ferry terminal will quickly deliver you into the quiet french countryside, where you will enjoy some wonderful empty trails and a heart warming sunrise as you weave your way southwards. The Rough Ride Guide team will be on-hand throughout, providing delicious refreshments and support to aid your journey. After 80 miles we finish for the day by the banks of the river Seine, where our bike-friendly hotel awaits, along with a hearty meal and a good nights sleep.

Sunday: More wonderful riding today with scenic tracks beside the river Seine, fun forests and beautiful royal parks for lots of off-road riding delivering you to the foot of the Eiffel Tower. You will then leave your bike with us, to enjoy Sunday evening in Paris, before heading home at your leisure. We will transport your bike back to Newhaven where you can collect it on your way home.

FURTHER INFORMATION:

Ferry information: We recommend the Newhaven to Dieppe ferry crossing with DFDS, leaving on Friday at 23.00hrs (arriving at 5am on Saturday). If you want a good nights sleep, catch an earlier ferry and stay the night in Dieppe - we can can recommend Windsor hotel. Make sure you add a bicycle to your crossing, and if you wish, a cabin too. Book your ticket at www.dfds.com 

On the outward ferry crossing you will have your bike and your bag; we will take your luggage after passport control in Dieppe. 

Ticket price is per person, based on 2 people sharing a twin-room. Single person room supplements are available for £55  

You will pay a non-refundable (unless we have to cancel the event) deposit of £140 upon booking. The balance will be due 8 weeks before departure.

We advise you to purchase your ferry & train tickets after confirmation of the event at the start of May. 

We will provide information for the train journey back to Dieppe. The cost of the train is roughly £30
