Immerse yourself in 10,000 years of history by riding this 350km loop around historic Wessex, the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Alfred the Great.
The route starts and ends in Winchester where Alfred is buried, and connects iconic monuments including Stonehenge, Avebury stone circle, Iron Age hill forts, Farnham Castle, and Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals. If riding this iconic route with some of the hassle taken out of it appeals to you then join us for this supported, self-guided riding adventure.
What we do: Before the event we offer advice and guidance, gpx files, daily route description with route profile and refreshment stops. Each day we meet you for a daily briefing, providing useful information and advice, take your luggage (on to the next hotel) and provide mechanical (and emotional) assistance along the way.
Twice daily we will meet you with refreshments along the way, offering water top-ups, tea & coffee, amazing homemade cakes and flapjack plus savoury snacks and sweets. Support vehicles will also stock a selection of spare parts and a spare bike, and if needed, we will source rarer and specific parts to the best of our ability, giving you peace of mind to relax and enjoy the ride, and the confidence that you will be able to complete this epic ride. Or a ride in the van if all else fails.
