Åre is Sweden’s only real mountain town, making it the ideal epicentre for the outdoor scene, and home to the Åre Bike Park whch offers superb Downhill, XC, Trail and Gravel riding, as well as Fat bikes, with trails for all abilities - with numerous Green, Blue, Red and Black trails on offer, plus a skills track and over 100km of natural singletrack trails too.

There are also, as you would expect, superb facilities on offer with a cafe, bike wash, BBQ areas and a lots more. 

Note: There's a good range of ability levels and you can spend a whole day lapping the park or head out to explore, to experience man-made and wild rocky alpine trails.  

There are lots of amazing trails, such as the super rooty 'Bräckebäcksleden' to getting air on the 'Shimano' or 'Cobra' trails and finish off with some Scandinavian food such as “Moose pizza” beer and crepes. 

Getting there: Public transport from the local airport Trondheim just over the border in Norway or Ostersund, an hour and a half away from Åre.

When to go: June to Septmeber are the best moths
