The Tour du Mont Blanc is one of the most famous hiking routes in the world, which this route mostly follows, but with a few tweaks, to make it as rideable as possible, but be awarned, there is s till a lot of hike-a-bike involved.
Hikers tend to go anti-clockwise, but clockwise is best by bike.
This circular route offers views of Mont Blanc (Western Europe’s highest peak at 4,810m) for most of teh journey, as well as glaciers, alpine meadows, valleys, etc.
When: September is usually best. Don’t attempt it in July or August as the trail is very busy. In June there will probably still be snow up high.
