This 3-day long Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) is similar to the most famous hiking routes in the world, but has a few tweaks to make it more suitable for cyclists - but be warned there is still a lot of walking / hike-a-bike!
Note: Hikers also tend to complete the TMB anti-clockwise, but on bikes it works better clockwise and NOT in July or August, when the trail gets very busy. September should be good.
This spectacular, circular route is filled with amazing scenery and views throughout, with spectacular glaciers, alpine meadows and mountain passes, as it passes through France, Switzerland and Italy.
The ride: It kicks off with the toughest part of the route, around 4hrs of hike-a-bike and snow! The rewards are worth it though, with stunning views and singletrack descents. Further big climbs are ahead, but are more rideable and even the option of using a ski lift and finishes with a wonderful, big descent from Col de la Seigne, back to Les Chapieux.
