The Haute Route MTB from Chamonix to Zermatt is probably one of the most famous mountain bike routes in the Alps, which has some tweaks from the hikers version. Please note the gpx here is the hikers version, and the MTB version needs to be purchased.
It starts in the shadow of Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France and then ends in Zermatt, Switzerland, with a view of the Matterhorn. A really fantastic tour for all those who like to ride on technically demanding paths in the Alps and want to discover great landscapes.
Exploring the heart of the Alps, riding through high alpine passes at an altitude of over 2500m, along well maintained Swiss singletrack, while enjoying alpine summits and glaciers and charming old Swiss villages with narrow streets of wooden chalets and past local shepards in the alpine pastures caring for their "Queens" the famous black fighting cows.
