Located within the Modderfontein Nature Reserve, the Taroko Trail Park is a safe and accessible wilderness on Johannesburg’s eastern edge. Open grasslands, towering eucalyptus trees and indigenous riverine bush along the Modderfontein River and dams are homes to a number of animals that you may be fortunate to see from the winding singletrack trails and open gravel roads. Old abandoned bunkers and building ruins add historical interest. Hills offer steady climbs with twisting singletrack descents.
