Wye Valley Greenway

The Wye Valley Greenway is now officially open  and offers a 5-mile off-road path which connects the town of Chepstow with the beautiful Tintern.

The shared-use trail has a gentle slope and the wonderful 1km long Tidenham Tunnel (the second-longest cycle tunnel in the UK) which, at it's deepest piint, is 100m below the surface! The tunnel can be narrow, so please keep to the left and cycle slowly.

Note: The tunnel is home to a colony of rare lesser horseshoe bats and to protect them, the tunnel is only open from April to October. It features low-level lighting specifically designed to keep their habitat peaceful.

After crossing the Wireworks Bridge to Tintern, the excellent Filling Station Café awaits and the option to browse through the shelves at  Stella & Rose's Books
