King Alfred Way accommodation guide

We're pleased to have created this list of accommodation along the King Alfred's Way route, which we hope will help make your planning easier. On the free PDF, you'll find a table of various places to stay over, and below we have shown the recommended stopovers we'd suggest using as a guideline for trips over 3 to 6 days. Please note distances are not exact.

Please contact us if you know of any additions, updates etc to be made.

Top tip: It can be a good idea to have a shorter day at the start and end, to allow travel (and faff) time, but you will then of course have to replan the stopovers to suit.

3 Days - around 120km per day:

  • Ogbourne St George 115km or Marlborough 120km
  • Farnham 240km

4 Days: around 90km per day

  • Avebury 100km

  • Hindhead 260km or Liss 290

5 Days: around 75km per day

  • Market Lavington 75km
  • Wantage 150km

  • East Meon 300km

6 Days: around 60km per day

  • Amesbury 50km

  • Petersfield or South Harting 300km
